Jim Hodges NASA Langley has re-joined the list of facilities using solar power for at least part of their energy consumption. A demonstration project of photovoltaic solar panels near Building the Hangar will provide 50, kilowatt hours of renewable energy per year. That energy is linked to the Badge and Pass office, which houses an inverter that converts the direct current of the solar array into alternating current to power the office’s electrical system. Badge and Pass used about , kilowatt hours of electricity last year. Click to enlarge The project includes solar panels covering 2, square feet of space between the Hangar and the Badge and Pass Office, which is the primary recipient of the solar power. It’s hooked up to the Badge and Pass office by underground cable. About three decades ago, a solar system was used to heat water for Building Later another system did the same thing for the photo lab. Both systems also were used for research, providing data used in several publications.

Its deeply sexual and emotionally rich and I enjoyed it. Jamie Killian decides he is going to be bold and come out to his father and brother, he never expected it to go down the way it did. With his dad throwing him out the house and all but disowning him. So with no where to go and feeling helpless, Jamie regrets his decision and it is pretty clear that he just effed up his life.

August 29, Tow truck operator Robert Guiboche says there’s an increase in crashes and congestion on Highway 1 in the Fraser Valley. The report shows the number crashes on Highway 1 between Street in Langley and Annis Road in Chilliwack — a four-lane stretch of highway — rose from in to 1, in Injuries and fatalities have risen, too.
In , crashes resulted in casualties, while in , crashes led to someone being harmed. A total of people were injured on the highway between Langley and Chilliwack last year. Information on fatalities was not available. The dramatic increase in crashes and congestion has the mayors of Langley, Abbotsford and Chilliwack calling on the provincial government to widen the highway quickly. Five years ago, she would give herself an hour-and-a-half to get there.
Now, she budgets three hours — one way. Braun pointed to a Liberal promise to widen the highway to three lanes in phases, beginning with the stretch from th to th in Langley, and eventually all the way to Whatcom Road in Abbotsford. The NDP has put the plans on hold while it studies the issue. This is clogged despite being a widened section of the highway.
In the meantime, congestion has become a frustrating expectation for anyone travelling east of Langley on a regular basis. All of us tow truck drivers want to get home safe to our families, too.

After the Denver Broncos surprisingly released cornerback Adam Jones on Tuesday, the team is expected to fill his roster spot with Brendan Langley. The second-year cornerback will be called up from the practice squad by Wednesday morning, per Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. It remains to be seen whether Jones gets another chance. But at some point every player reaches the end of the road, and that point for Pacman may be now. A third-round draft pick, Langley followed a brutal rookie campaign — in which he was routinely toasted in coverage — by failing to progress in year two.
It means nothing to him, I hope. He also took 10 punt returns for 25 yards and four kick returns for 85 yards. Its unclear why exactly Jones was cut loose at this juncture. He wasnt playing at an overly high level, no, but the Broncos need functional bodies to combat this weeks daunting matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. For one, this is an indication that starting CB Bradley Roby, currently in the NFLs concussion protocol, will be cleared to return in the coming days.
Langley will slide in as the fifth corner behind Chris Harris Jr. The Broncos released year veteran cornerback Adam Jones on Tuesday after he appeared in just seven games with the organization. Jones signed with Denver in late August and started two games in September, but his playing time had waned in recent weeks.

There are no definitive parking guidelines, just primitive pedestals, which allows people to park anywhere. The field where you park is covered with rabbit pellets, a function of the mass of loose rabbits on the grounds. A 4H function brought people in that created a sardine parking situation, but worse, some people brought their horses into the RV parking area next to the RVs and proceeded to groom their horses in the area with the RVs.
Health Dept should visit this site, but it’s owned by the county. You are close to a road, but it is quiet. The place is crawling with rabbits which have escaped during previous fairs, apparently , so your pets will probably love it. Port-a-potties are provided for your convenience. Other than that, it’s a very quiet campground, probably the cheapest on Whidbey Island. Has suited our purposes well for a place to hang out before and after their annual art show.
Nothing special about the campground itself, space between rigs is very dependent on how people choose to park. We had a nice large site for 7 out of our 10 days and for 3 days had a motorhome that pulled in 5 feet behind us and blocked our limited view of Useless Bay. The fairgrounds are populated by bunnies, a past 4H program that went awry.

Actually, we’re in for a stretch of nice, warm weather After our usual early On our trip back to BC the over-the-air Winegard Batwing TV antenna stopped winding up unless Steve went up onto the roof to lift it, then it would catch as I was winding it up. Steve thinks it was a stripped elevating gear so he wanted to go to Traveland to pick up a part for it.
He was pleased to see that they had stock and he wouldn’t have to replace the whole thing. Jack the fellow we met in Quartzsite and again at Peach Arch RV Park was working today, so we had a chat with him and he introduced us to a couple of his colleagues. After spending a little time with him, Steve picked up the part, a replacement lock for the truck air filter access door along with an anode for the hot water tank, and then we headed over to Walmart.
I picked up a few things and we were soon on our way home.

The good thing about that venue is that it draws more eyeballs to the screen than my own little blog here. The downside is that it has a pretty strict limit on how long a post can be about words. Having a word limit can be a good thing as writing for that blog has allowed me to refine my writing and find shorter ways to say things. The downside is that I blog about topics that are not always black and white and a word limit can restrict my ability to expand on an important point or give useful examples to clarify topics of interest.
My post yesterday Why the TPP Doesn’t Spell Doom for the Environment is a really good example of where a post would be improved with the addition of a few hundred more words. So today, I am going to add those words. In doing so I will take some others out and mix it up a bit. While details of the agreement are still under wraps, the Canadian government has provided a Technical Summary of the Agreement. Rather from an environmental perspective, trade agreements have both positive and negative aspects.
They can have the negative effect of slowing down the development of unilateral environmental regulations, but they can have a positive effect by forcing environmental laggards to catch up with the pack. It is quite true that trade agreements typically include considerations to prevent individual countries from developing their own distinct environmental policies. One of the important features of these trade agreements involve knocking down or eliminating non-tariff barriers also called technical barriers to trade.
The problem is that environmental regulations have historically been used by the bad actors on the international trade front to disguise simple protectionism. Like the wolf in the story Little Red Riding Hood the protectionism is dressed up to look like it is intended to enhance environmental performance but under the covers hide regulations intended to harm foreign competitors, often without improving environmental performance in the least.
